Let me walk through why this hits so hard. Guan Xuxu comes home at night, disheveled, holding a dirty fox, and the first thing her cousin does is yell at her about pets not being allowed. She fires back with logic—'if he can come in, why can't your fox?'—and Jiang Su chokes on his own anger because she's right. But then Jiang Huai steps in and doesn't just side with her, he REVERSES the entire premise. He says: this is YOUR home. You can keep whatever you want. And look at what he does next. He doesn't just say the words—he ACTS. He brings workers. He has already PREPARED a pet house in the eastern garden. This man thought ahead. He anticipated that she might need this and he made sure it was ready. That's not just being nice, that's a level of care that says he's been paying attention to her for a LONG time. The text says his 'peach-blossom eyes shimmered with unwavering certainty.' I swear to god the author wrote that specifically to make readers weak in the knees. And Guan Xuxu's reaction? She almost says thank you, remembers his earlier rule about not needing to thank him, swallows it, and just nods. 'Okay.' That tiny exchange—so much unsaid history between them. She's learning to trust him but she's still guarded. And he's patient. He's so incredibly patient.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how distinct every character's voice is in this text? Grandma Mei sounds like exactly what you'd expect—a sharp, practical older woman who has survived hard things and isn't about to start dying now. Her dialogue is full of short, decisive statements: "Can two legs outrun four?" "If there are too few of us, wherever we run, they'll spot us." She doesn't waste words. Then you have Aunt Han Shi, whose entire personality is conveyed through complaint and nagging, but with that one genuine line about worrying for Mei Qian's mother that catches you off guard. The system dialogues are also funny in their own dry way—Xiao Mei's "Congratulations, Host" followed by another batch of compressed biscuits has become a running joke that I absolutely love. And Mei Qian's internal voice is perfect—she's modern, slightly sarcastic, constantly calculating, but also genuinely caring. The line where she thinks "Don't be too Mary Sue~" after her whole family is impressed with her cooking? That's self-aware humor that keeps the narrative from becoming too earnest. The family dinner scene where everyone is praising the wild vegetable porridge and Mei Qian is just standing there thinking "I literally just added compressed biscuit powder" is comedy gold. The dialogue never feels like exposition—it always feels like people actually talking.
Loving this story. The way it's presented gets you hooked, and it has nice way of incorporating scientific facts.

First of all I would like to say im not a person who goes and spreads negativity and neither do I want to usually, u have a good world building and and good writing skills but Fuck u man… how does a being that’s supposed to have 1000x more intelligence and processing power than a normal human make mistakes that even a hobo living on the streets with a hint of common sense won’t make .? Like seriously ?? He thinks of his sister after his world domination from the underworld(like wtf is that ? That’s just a chunni dream that provides no benifits) … and after he knows that people are going to go after him and his family because of what he is , even after being given a warning from shadow that people will go after him , he doesn’t explain anything to his family …. Just says that he “needs to do this” for his parents and lets them roam around freely in a world where just a few hours ago they were surrounded by govt people who wanted to get them to make him listen ………. Bro all I can say is that u are a new author and are just trying to find a way to write overpowered mc story , but this is just not how to do it. I will freely admit that writing a story is not something I am capable of but thank god atleast I didn’t write this monstrosity of a novel . Absolute garbage .
