It should have been and epilogue at the end like two or three years ahead to see how they all were doing. How Sophia was doing without a wolf or if the moon goddess gave her another one or if they had another baby and how Layla and her mate and the rest were doing. How was getting alone.

I need to process what Zhou Xian just told Qiu Xinran because this is where the story goes from palace intrigue to full-on political thriller and I am not ready. Three bodies found after the bandit incident — one in a cave, one in the woods, one at the cliff's base. The one at the cliff was a Yiyue spy who was shot and fell. But then Zhou Xian drops this entire backstory about Commander Zhang — accused of colluding with Yiyue men, his family imprisoned, secret letters found, he confessed in prison and then hanged himself, his men exiled, his women sold as courtesans. Some female family members couldn't bear the humiliation. This is the world this story lives in. Beneath the prosperity of Chang'an are countless unmarked graves. Today's nobles can become tomorrow's prisoners. A single fall can be irrecoverable. And through all of this, Qiu Xinran is just trying to survive at the academy, deliver astronomy notes, and not get assassinated herself. The assassination attempt on Xia Xiuyan in the mountains connects directly to all of this — the Yiyue infiltration, the compromised guards, the web of betrayal. But what gets me is how casually Zhou Xian delivers this information. He's just a boy on a horse, talking about mass executions and suicide like he's discussing the weather. And Qiu Xinran's reaction — she remembers the austere commander with the teenage son who once bumped into her without apology, and suddenly she has a better impression of him. The stakes here aren't just about who wins an archery competition or who catches the most game in the hunt. The stakes are life and death, reputation and ruin, and everyone in this story is one wrong move away from becoming another unmarked grave.
This is starting to frustrate your readers, not updating for more than 3weeks surely it's not a good thing and when we start giving negative comments you say readers are biased, attacking yet it's due to giving no update myself loved this book but.........
This series is a must read ! It has it all laugh crying edge of your seat passion lots of hot passion one of the best authors of all times never disappoints she really brings the characters to life ! Please read you will be dropping all your gems on these books
