The author really understands how to paint a scene with words. Let me just talk about the grave sequence for a second because the visual storytelling is chef's kiss. Rain has just passed, clouds are breaking, and then — golden sunlight filters through the leaves, scattering warm patches of light over both of them. This isn't just atmosphere, this is emotional lighting. The universe literally shines on this moment. Then there's the mountain setting itself. Solitary grave, quiet mountains, the rustling leaves sounding 'almost like an answer from beyond.' The author doesn't over-describe but every detail lands. The muddy ground, the cold wet earth, the heavy iron box wrapped in rotting oilcloth — you can smell this place. It feels real, not like a generic backdrop. The hospital scenes are a different kind of worldbuilding. Bright fluorescent lights, the VIP ward at the end of the hallway, the rich apple fragrance hitting Su Jiuyue the moment she pushes open Li Guilan's door. The contrast between the sacred mountain grave and the petty hospital drama is interesting — both spaces feel lived-in, both serve the story's emotional architecture. And the military compound! The small Western-style house, the regimental headquarters, the cafeteria — these aren't just locations, they're the world Su Jiuyue is building a life in. The author makes you feel the weight of each space. I especially loved how the jeep scene created tension just through movement — the speeding vehicle, the muddy tire tracks, the black off-road with Yue A plates arriving moments too late.
