Okay so I have to talk about this egg scene because honestly it is THE moment that tells you everything about this story's power dynamics. Lin Wan gets ONE egg — just one — from Lu Zhengting, and Old Madam Lu immediately accuses her of stealing it. Can you believe the audacity? This woman hoards eggs for her own granddaughter Lu Bao'er while the other kids never get any. And then Lin Wan just... splits it among the other children and declares that if she were in charge, every kid would get an egg every day. The children's eyes LIT UP. You could literally see the plot pivot right there. This isn't just about food — it's about who controls resources in this household, and Lin Wan just declared war on the entire system. What's brilliant is how the author uses this tiny domestic detail to set up the larger conflict. Old Madam Lu's reaction — snatching the cornbread basket, grabbing a rolling pin — shows she's willing to escalate to violence over nothing. And Lu Zhengting shielding Lin Wan with his own arm? That's the moment the plot shifts from "annoying mother-in-law drama" to something deeper. Their relationship changes right there. The author doesn't need grand battles or dramatic confessions — one egg, one protective gesture, and suddenly everything has changed. I kept thinking about how the original plot probably had Lin Wan as just another victim, but now with her arrival, the whole story has rewritten itself. The plot twists aren't coming from some big reveal — they're emerging organically from character choices. That's solid writing.
The pacing in these chapters is absolutely masterful and I need to talk about how the author moves from one scene to the next like a camera panning across a film. Chapter 18 starts with the interview—tense, sharp, immediate conflict. Su Luoyan walks out. Done. Within two paragraphs we're on a mountain road, a Porsche is provoking her, and suddenly we've got a car race in cold weather. This is the author saying 'we're not done with her spirit yet, she's not just a victim of bad interviews.' She wins the race. Of course she does. Then—cut to the Fu residence, which is so extravagantly described that you practically need a map. Half an hour from gate to house. Fountain. Koi pond. Indoor pool. Billiards. The scale of it all makes you understand why she feels like a guest here. Then the conversation with Fu Shen Nan, then Grandfather coming downstairs, the matchmaking talk, dinner, Grandfather leaves, and finally—finally—Su Luoyan is alone in the backyard. The pacing slows down deliberately. The prose becomes quieter, more observant. She's picking up petals, feeding fish, remembering childhood. And then Fu Cheng Shen appears. The tension builds not through action but through stillness. The kiss happens almost casually, and then the aftermath stretches out—him stepping away, lighting a cigarette, the smoke, the silence. The chapter ends mid-thought about his smoking habits, which is such a good cliffhanger because it's not dramatic but it's deeply intimate. We're inside his head, inside his pain, and we want more. The author knows exactly when to speed up and when to make you sit with a moment. I stayed up way too late because of this.
Man you are rocking so far so good keep goingmust see novel
All five stars for you, author. I'm really looking forward to that drawing like a french girl. Please update moreeeeee. I'll be checking your book from time to time to check updates huhu, thank youuuu
Just casually giving myself 5 stars—ignore this. It’s funny how this light novel focuses so heavily on the darker side of business, government, and all that shady stuff. The ruthless politics, corporate power plays, and backstabbing... and yet, it's marketed as female-oriented. It’s kind of ironic, don’t you think? You’d expect something lighter or more empowering, but instead, it's full of high-stakes drama and gritty power struggles. It’s like a deep dive into the darker side of society, with a touch of femininity thrown in for good measure. Kind of an interesting contrast, but I guess that’s what makes it stand out. Yeah, it had comedy, but that’s just Nevaris being Nevaris—always with that unpredictable, sarcastic twist.
keep it up man, love the kind of story your going for here??
It is nice but you should update more and increase you word count . ?
Game novels really aren’t my bread and butter but reading the first 8 chapters I had a lot of fun getting to know Zade and the other characters, I have to say the ability to craft a beautiful story is the take away here. Characters and decent early questions have me excited to see how high this story can soar
what a great novel everyone i suggest you to try this
I'm actually dieing for the next part I really do love the story please update ???
A very promising story! Just there aren't enough chapters yet, I'm looking forward to the following plot. I hope the author can maintain this level! I am willing to recommend this novel to others!
To be honest I really enjoyed this one, the concept is unique, and the premise is nice. Combat could use maybe a little work, but overall, it's not bad.Personally, I am excited to see Kael character development in the future. I am curious to see the progression of how he interacts with his lovers and just overall personality growth or changes. Keep up the good work author-kun!!Since I stopped at 100 I will prob be stacking for a while so CYA then!
