1st half is good. The English translation throughout the novel is good. But after 1000+ chapters the plot is completely destroyed, with enemies stronger than the 'subtle' realm begin to pop-up left and right. Only the MC has the strength to at least struggle, and his intellect took a nosedive that a principle of 'having strength makes might' that of which the MC has personally spread throughout the empire, he seems to forgot about it to apply to himself. The MC loves the Tang so much that he seems to forgot to exact revenge on the Prince's and his enemies both internal and external wherein he was threatened and his loved ones taken hostages.
Overall 2.5/5. Only the translation is worth reading, not the plot.

The antagonist's motives are well-defined, and the author cleverly reveals clues that pay off much later. The mix of everyday life and significant events strikes a good balance, with a focus on character development rather than constant action sequences.
The characters are diverse and memorable, showcasing growth and distinct personalities. They belong to various species, including humans, jins, and advanced beings, with intricate relationships among them. The protagonist, a chess prodigy with a tragic past, serves as a strategic thinker, protecting those he cares about fiercely while struggling with his own trauma.
In the later part of the story, his protective nature evolves, driven by his fear for their safety. This transformation adds depth to his character and creates engaging conflicts. Misunderstanding is the best word I can think of to define this novel ???
If this was called "Abe the Runesmith" or "Abe the Blacksmithing Knight" I would've started it a long time ago. 35 chapters in, there is barely any wizardry & the little focus that is there is placed on "Qi" (body strengthening for Knights) or magic ink to transcribe mana onto weapons to make magic swords & such. Dear reader; if you're anything like me, a person who prefers crafters to mages, you'll probably enjoy this story.
Edit: Welp, for the first 100 chapters, at least. Then comes the magic. I ended up dropping it because MC is just so overpowered that it became boring, frankly.
Decent. Wasn’t amazing but wasn’t bad either. Translation has some major issues but is very bearable. The fact that his skill names do not appear is extremely frustrating as it makes it a lot harder to understand what’s going on. However the plot was still pretty good. Only mid for an isekai but as a self-proclaimed isekai connoisseur it was an enjoyable read.
