Just finished it, i got edged for 1000 chapters and torwards the ending i was begging for it to end. Ending didnt make me splurge tho. Without making spoilers, what i felt about the novel is that we got too many characters and the author doesnt leave anyone behind ,so nobody is actually fleshed out except maybe two of em. Its great for killing time tho so go for it.
Just read the comments and was about to not read when I read the stars, it’s a 4.3 so at least try it if you are debating reading this.

I initially discovered this novel through a captivating fanart on Twitter, and it definitely deserves a solid 5-star rating! The storytelling is engaging, with the main character's nonchalant yet likable personality. He's approachable, like a cool buddy, but also carries a responsible side, akin to a caring group parent. His slight vulnerability adds depth, as he's not fearless but can handle challenges, such as snakes.
The contrast in height between him and the engineers is an amusing touch, with water levels creating a stark difference. I appreciate the portrayal of strong, capable women in an engineering setting, and the compelling reason behind the underwater station—environmental issues and space exploration setbacks.
During the flood sequence, the protagonist's quick thinking and selflessness are commendable, even rescuing unexpected creatures and others who might prioritize their own survival. The sense of desperation and intense situations create thrilling moments, especially the reveal about the broken escape pods and the harrowing prospect of descending 3,000 meters.
The character development and the dynamics among the group, despite the initial selection criteria, make for an intriguing plot. The mention of the facilities available during non-emergency times, like healthcare, dental care, and delicious food, adds a surprisingly positive aspect to the story.

The story started off tolerably up until chapter 150, and I continued reading from 150 to 400 due to the time investment and not wanting to abandon it. However, between chapters 400 and 640, the quality plummeted, and the extreme nationalism in the latter half pushed me to stop at chapter 640.
From chapter 400 onward, the protagonist was meant to collaborate with American soldiers to rescue a journalist. After saving the journalist, the narrative took a turn where American soldiers portrayed China negatively and demeaned the MC. Ultimately, they attempted to kill the MC due to his Chinese identity. In retaliation, the MC fought back and returned to China.
The subsequent missions followed a similar pattern – going to Japan, where Chinese were victims of mistreatment and abuse, leading to violence against those perceived as evil. In the US mission, the MC encountered friends being bullied and insulted for being Chinese, which was the final straw for me. I decided to stop reading, as the book had devolved into a nauseating display of hatred.
