Read the first 20 chapters then skip to about 550 because the rest is going in circles and making out and dry h*mping in closets And Piper almost dies 50 times. Nick won’t claim her. Now your caught up

**Story: 6/10**
This novel really takes "character-driven" storytelling seriously. There is absolutely none of the typical fluff and drama surrounding school clubs, siblings, and friendships you see in a typical yuri story. The setting is dreadfully mundane and circles entirely around grades and less dramatic aspects of school life. And you know what, that's perfectly fine with me. At this age, I don't want to hear about someone's idealized school life where they constantly go around solving other people's life problems and resolving all their personal flaws (like in *Bloom Into You*, *Oregairu*, etc.).
Spoiler: They also graduate from high school about 1/3 of the way into the novel, which is a win for any romance novel.
I feel ambivalent about the author eventually leaning away from the BD*M scenes. That was the only thing distracting me from how much I disliked Shiori as a person (not as a character), and without it, the story lacks some excitement. The author took away the action of the story and replaces it with... nothing. I can only hope there's something to fill the void in the next few arcs. The novel clearly works if you take it as a "real" romance with some spice added in, but I only wish the author didn't try to dull things down so much.

I am very impressed with how character development has been tied with the storytelling itself.
Spoiler: In the beginning, we are led to believe that Shiori is the main character. Certainly, with a title like "Buying My Classmate," you would expect a fetish novel with a major emphasis on the sadistic dominant main character. But after a few chapters, the story turns you on your heels and reveals that she's a deuteragonist and nowhere as threatening as she tries to make you believe. Hazuki is actually the one with agency in this story. Because of just how messed up Shiori is from parental neglect and her fear of intimacy, she gradually loses her ability to control the progress of her relationship, essentially surrendering the plot to her partner. By trying to drift away from Hazuki, she shies away from all her responsibilities, including her role in the story and connection with the reader, in a way that parallels Hazuki's feelings.
**Translation/Writing: 7/10**
Occasional errors. Nothing immersion-breaking if you've read many amateur Japanese translations. The writing is rather stiff and almost hesitant to portray emotion. If you like [melo]drama, people expressing their genuine feelings in a concise and logical manner, and healthy ways to develop a relationship, this is not the novel for you.
A good Korean novel. It’s a fun read with lengthy chapters and a decently fast pace. However, it feels a bit light on foreground details and background setting for my taste. There are no info-dumps in sight so far. The main character (MC) isn’t edgy, an anti-hero, or unfeeling. Instead, he’s stoic and old, which I find somewhat refreshing in this genre. Typically, Korean MCs are aloof and distant, and while they’re cool, I’m liking this MC more.
The only issue I can think of right now is that some of the information provided is too ambiguous and indirect. This might be intentional and could be a plus for others, but it definitely confuses me.

> The MC mentioned that his student’s father is his son. This was foreshadowed a few chapters back. Later, he stated that his student is at an age where she could be his granddaughter. So, she is your granddaughter, right? Why are you implying otherwise? You better find your wife, or some elf, or some milf out there to justify that romance genre, or I’ll be disappointed in you.

The more I read it, the more it annoys and frustrates me, starting right from the first chapter.
How can someone at the SSS rank, the highest rank in the world, have their data so easily accessed by some self-entitled nobody?
I would understand if his ID was made to look normal to maintain anonymity, so he isn't swarmed by people wherever he goes. But within the organization? Only a few people should have access to his data! Everyone else should be restricted!
Heck, if the author didn’t learn this from basic IT knowledge, then from some army or spy films, right?
Then there's his ex-girlfriend. She complains about the quality of the dates she’s been taken to, yet it’s later revealed that all the places she went to were incredibly expensive.
As someone who works in a brand company (like the ex-girlfriend), I refuse to believe she was oblivious to the rest of the world. She must have known about the expensive places and the brands she was gifted.
The author introduces characters that are too stupid for me to accept. It even makes me believe that this is a self-insertion story where he can mess up the lives of equivalent people from the real world because he can't do it himself in the real world. Some sort of pseudo-revenge or a petty behavior of a child. And this idea makes me even more disgusted by the story.
This is an outstanding novel with a well-structured, logically consistent, and engaging storyline. The original concept of regression was seamlessly incorporated, providing a clear purpose for the narrative and avoiding the forced feel often present in similar themes from other books I've read. The author did an impressive job in portraying Kim YuWon as a relatable underdog at the start, despite his remarkable early accomplishments. His character development evokes a sense of authenticity, contrasting with the stereotype of overly buff or physically exceptional characters found in many media.
The progression through the story keeps me hooked, constantly惊喜于 the protagonist's extraordinary feats. However, I would appreciate it if there were more character interactions, like with Hargaan, to add depth and variety to the plot, as well as offering a chance to delve deeper into the MC's world. In summary, this is a fantastic power fantasy that captivates readers thus far.
This passage beautifully captures what I didn't even realize I wanted in a story: a compelling plot, a delightful sense of humor, and well-developed characters. The protagonists' gradual acceptance and support of each other is heartwarming, with no unnecessary complications or drama. I appreciated the protagonist's efforts to make a positive change in history. One particular highlight was the shamelessly charming main love interest, the large dog concubine, whose dream of becoming the goddess of harems finally came true. It was a satisfying and enjoyable read.
