In fact, I was so engrossed that I even decided to support the translator on Patreon for early access (thanks a lot!). This book is incredibly addictive.
What I appreciate is the relatability of the protagonist; they face challenges and struggle, which makes their journey realistic. The consequences in the world created by the author are harsh, leaving no room for mercy. Characters, including our protagonist, experience pain and setbacks, adding depth to the narrative.
The interpersonal dynamics between characters are intriguing, with a touch of drama that keeps me entertained. Although some may find the misunderstandings repetitive, personally, I find them amusing, as they create moments of tension and character growth. For those who dislike such plot devices, this might not be their cup of tea, but they contribute to the humor and charm of the novel.
This academy-hero tale stands out for its dark and gritty setting, the unexpected gender-bending female lead, and the promise of romance. Overall, I must say I am a big fan.
The book was enjoyable, despite the somewhat foolish antagonists and average comedic moments. If you're looking for a lighthearted read, I'd recommend giving it a try. The translation is clear and easy on the eyes; thanks to the translators!

It was sudden when it hit me that he now sees her as a woman, leaving me wondering, "When did this happen?" Although the explanation was provided, it didn't feel adequately developed within the story, making the transition from sibling to romantic interest somewhat unclear.
Having immersed myself in "King's Awakening," I found the narrative to be an enthralling blend of fantasy and psychological depth. The protagonist's journey from humble beginnings to self-realization was captivating, leaving me hooked with each turn of the page. The exploration of power, morality, and the human condition resonated profoundly, making it a thought-provoking read that lingered long after the last chapter. A must-read for those who crave immersive storytelling and profound character development.
