This novel made me realize that I can truly fall in love with a Chinese webnovel. It’s hilarious, not just because of the system-related antics but also due to the unique character designs. The romantic dynamic centers around a confident, pure-hearted woman who was raised in another world and often gets deceived, paired with a jaded, cold woman who gradually softens to her sincerity and becomes a protective, almost predatory figure. What makes it even funnier is when the protagonist (the first woman) starts acting in wuxia dramas because she was actually a cultivator in real life, and she nails it. The entertainment industry setting isn’t just about backstabbing and drama—though there is plenty of that—but also involves a lot of hard work and acting. Most importantly, this novel is romantic and intensely passionate. The protagonist’s fumbling towards her love interest, and the love interest’s deliberate restraint despite her desires, which sometimes break, is absolutely brilliant. The translation could be clearer in some parts, but overall, this is a definite win.

I never expected that the last chapter released here came 5 months ago. A real shame. However from reading the comments this does not seem to be discontinuated, so it's like half a relief, lol

This story is exactly as advertised. The main character (MC), Ning Shu, is a transmigrator who fights back for underdog characters in trashy novels. Her motivation is purely about survival, which is commendable given the numerous challenges she faces. She's not overly powerful; in fact, she's quite weak, not particularly intelligent, emotionally immature, and not a likable character. Her first instinct often involves physical confrontation. It's satisfying to see her succeed because she works tirelessly and overcomes obstacles with sheer determination and, occasionally, hidden camera evidence.
However, potential readers should be aware that the author exhibits strong misogynistic tendencies, bordering on extreme chauvinism. While the content may not be groundbreaking in its extremity, the writing has a cynical edge that amplifies the harshness. The author assumes any antagonist is inherently evil, and violence, suffering, and unsanitary conditions are portrayed in graphic detail, potentially making some parts unappealing to sensitive readers.
Despite these aspects, if one can overlook them, the book offers a unique experience with multiple interconnected storylines. Watching Ning Shu slowly rise through adversity to become a successful transmigrator is an entertaining journey. So, if you're up for it, I'd recommend giving it a try.
