As an avid reader of anything Mishak, this book doesn't disappoint. The intrigue and chase are both being displayed in the beginning already, which is awesome as it ensures an elaborate depiction till the end......
good read...what i can get from here..in marriage, there are always obstacle that come with some of sweet or painful journey..leave the toxic or negatively then grap every moments with grace and wonderful journey of memories..good job author
I need a minute. I actually need a minute because the scene where Floating Cloud takes that whip for Qin Shu is the kind of moment that sits in your chest and refuses to leave. Let me go back and break this down because it hit me on multiple levels. First, there's the physical violence—"The back of her faded jacket instantly split open. Beneath the torn fabric, flesh swelled and burst apart before their eyes." The author doesn't shy away from the gore, and that makes it hurt more. But what really destroyed me was the emotional layer. Floating Cloud isn't just some generic loyal servant. She's been there through everything. The bruises on her face that Qin Shu notices before the whipping starts—that detail matters. This girl has been suffering alongside her mistress and never once considered leaving. And then when the whip comes down, she doesn't hesitate. She erupts. The text says she broke free with "astonishing strength" driven by "sheer determination." That's not just loyalty—that's love. The kind of bond between these two that goes beyond master and servant. Qin Shu's reaction is what got me though. For the first time, her icy voice cracks. "Floating Cloud!" she cries out hoarsely. This woman who has endured five years of imprisonment without showing emotion, who stood like a frozen lake while soldiers tore her home apart—she breaks when her friend takes the blow. And then the final image: Floating Cloud wrapping her arms around Qin Shu's waist, convulsing, blood seeping through torn cloth. I'm not okay. The friendship between these two is the emotional anchor of this entire story and the author knows exactly how to use it. Every moment of tenderness between them makes the violence that follows feel like a personal attack on the reader.
this novel cant keep me from finishing every episode too soon. The story plot is like a real-life roller coaster. Each intrigues despite of seems dramatic, yet very relatable for anyone on that spot. Truly cant wait for new updates. love
