Stick to your country when writing novels, don't use a country you practically know nothing about except what you see in movies. China is not USA, don't use your Chinese perspective to generalise US except this I like the book
as others have said, synopsis is off. first few chapters were alright but dropped at chapter 18. The translation gets worse and worse, names get mixed up, things aren't explained well but also use 10× as many words as it needs to, really suffers from the repeating of what's going on over and over. The MC being reborn doesn't matter besides giving him the insanely op system that makes him an elite one man army a week into the storyline. The "only cares about the love interest, is sadistic and aloof to everyone else" thing also is pretty lame. If it was proofread and had some of the fat trimmed it'd be a decent enough to be the kind of trash you can actually enjoy but sadly not worth the read

Updated!This isn't a review of me praising my work. This is a sort of disclaimer in case readers don't get suddenly disappointed.1. The MC - Don't try to understand him. Because he has many dynamics to him, it would mislead the readers into thinking that he is 'THAT type of character' when he isn't. His attitude on certain points would also be questioned. Sometimes, he would act out of character. It has been explicitly stated that the story is aware of it. In time, the questions would be answered.2. Plot too weird and random - As a beginner author, there are scene jumps in the beginning but it would disappear some chapters later. There would be some random events but they aren't closely related to the main plot.3. Atmosphere - 80% of the second volume is gloomy, not dark. Don't get the wrong impression from the beginning and the synopsis.4. Pacing - Events happen one after another. But I wouldn't call it fast as if the time is considered, it is slow. The MC doesn't get the time to breathe. This is my response to the well-deserved criticisms. If there are any questions, you can comment. I usually respond to the comments.

This novel is a real gem ?. In this dystopian modern world, countries war with none mass destruction weapons. The protagonist Alex has grown up on the battlefield to be an S rank mercenary. Due to his father’s injury Alex retires with him to civilian life. The story revolves around Alex’s climatization to high school life and the drama ? of being a teenager. That “drama” includes plenty of combat and action in and out of school, for Alex and the “Mercenary Club” they form.
I love this book, The MC is amazingly written, and dumbfounded everybody with what they can do. This is also one of the few books I have found that have basically perfect grammar.
This is an action/murder series in which a Chinese man is reincarnated as a Caucasian Texan kid in an alternate universe. The title and synopsis are very misleading. Although "detective" is in the name, the MC has not done any investigative work at all. THIS IS NOT A MYSTERY SERIES AT ALL. On the contrary, he becomes a police officer and goes around killing people with excessive brutality. Despite this, he hasn't even been investigated, suspended, or arrested for his crimes.Aside from his system, there are no super powers or supernatural elements at all prior to the series going premium.There is ample racism, sexism, and nationalism from the main character. Women are weak, even if they're police officers and have not demonstrated any kinds of weakness. The Chinese always do things better and are more sensible. Why didn't the author just reincarnate him as a Chinese American, then? There are plenty of Asian people here. This is very off-putting and distracting from the plot.The MC himself is a Gary Stu with great grades, great looks, and great abs. Although he becomes excessively violent and even executes criminals who are incapacitated, there are no legal repercussions, and he's never risked being removed from the force. Is he even human? He feels no guilt, hesitation, or remorse after killing people. He is interested in his system and is savage, but he otherwise doesn't have any emotions. No bitterness, no sorrow, no regrets, no lust, no nothing. His morality is highly questionable, too. Although he has a girlfriend he likes, he wants to replace her with a better girlfriend or even develop a harem; later, he has no interest in dating, so his personality is inconsistent in this regard. His intelligence is clearly only average, and this has left many readers facepalming in the comments, including myself.Weirdly enough, although he was already thirty years old in his past life, he doesn't appear to have any life experiences or to reflect on his past at all. Most people would plan things different a second time in life, but he really doesn't have any interest. It feels like his past as a Chinese man only exists to give him the excuse to continue with making hurtful prejudiced comments. I'm not sure what the point is.It's also pretty bizarre that his system doesn't punish him for breaking the law or murdering people. It's as though it was designed to make a super criminal rather than a hero, and it's abundantly obvious it's not made for a detective at this point since intelligence doesn't count for anything.There is some characterization of other characters, but the story doesn't give them much depth before going premium.If you are looking for another casual action/killing type of series, then you might enjoy this. If you are looking for actual mysteries, detectives, investigation of any kind, or super powers, this series does not have any of them prior to premium. I'm not going to bother paying premium here, and I don't recommend it for others either.
First of all I want to preface this by saying I've only read to chapter 100 so I'm not sure if anything I complain about will be fixed later on. Lets start of by saying I don't think this is a bad novel. The writing quality is fantastic - the way author describes people, objects, emotions, or scenarios is detailed, everything is neatly organized and the system notifications are easy to read, and I haven't noticed any grammar mistakes.My issues with the novel aren't really general things that happen over and over, but for the most part are certain scenarios or plot points that I didn't like. For example: Leonel. I can stand him being a 'simp', in the beginning I thought it was pretty cool, in fact. But as I progressed through the chapters, we start seeing this unhealthy obsession he has with Aina that's there as part of his personality for whatever reason. I really don't understand the point of that. Another thing is the weird way he picks who he should feel sorry for when he has to kill people. I like when characters have a moral dilemma when it comes to murdering as it's only human to, however the dilemma in this story keeps popping back up even after you think he already resolved it. This is one of the many examples of the contradictory personalities some of these characters have.Adding to this issue of contradictions, Aina also has her fair share. This especially shows when the relationship between Aina and MC is seen. It goes from her giggling at him in one moment and in the next instant a week pass without them talking to each other for whatever reason. It's weird.Also since we're on the topic of Aina, I, for the love of god, can't think of any reason why she wouldn't say anything (or HELP ffs) when they were heading back to the base. She had an inkling at what would happen if they reached the fort, but instead of tell MC, she fake sleeps to heal a minor concussion - which should have been totally easy for her to heal being an evolved human with a freaking HEALING ability - while MC toils through a giant octopus, hordes of invalids, and a fort's army. In the end they still got fked up. It felt totally pointless.And that's another point - the pacing / progression is weird. We went from the Mayan temple, to a couple chapters walking around, to 30+ chapters in the Paris S-gate, to the Fort arc. They really only spent a day in the fort (after showing them everything they got and their uses, mind you), before getting items that will powerup MC, and then getting hunted smh. Like is that not sudden to anyone else lol?Im sure theres more annoying things but I can only remember minor things that might be explained later or just don't really matter in the story. They apparently knew that the Metamorphosis will occur but didn't prepare for it - why? And whats the deal with how Paradise Islands are set up - the poorer, the higher they are? That doesn't make sense at all, seems like that setting was only used in order for them to come crashing down later.Finally, the only other thing I had problem with is the lack of certain aspects of world building. Sure, the setting is pretty creative and when it is used its detailed, but at some parts, it's just skipped straight to the action. For example, the instances when MC and Aina were both at the fort - there was no solid explanation about the situation. We only learned there were innocents like that when they were dying when MC was trying to escape. We don't know what happened to MCs other classmates. Like are they being trained? Are they taking Force classes or whatever? Have they joined the army? Certain details that might seem pointless in the overall arching storyline but without it being added, it just seems very bland. Like as if the world only exists with MC, in a sense.I started this review when I was annoyed and sleepy lol. I just wanted to vent about the novel to whoever would listen so I apologize if my ramblings devolved during the later half of the review. I will say though that although this was mostly a negative review, I especially enjoyed the power system, and the action.
