Alucard dodged the topic
Now, Britain is suffering from the spread of his influence. And it won't be long before he makes a move which greatly concerns the ministry.
"No! No. Is just that. Um. Well. Damn it I'm sorry." I face palmed. "I don't know, it's my first time dating. And I am unprepared with a lot of things. I mean, I don't even know what the guy looks like. How can I even trust him to be with me."
"Are you sick?"
Let me just sit with this for a second. Wen Chi says Because I like you and the entire room scatters. Not because it is romantic. Because if they hear her lying, they die. That is the stakes. That is the entire conflict compressed into one sentence. The external conflict is obvious—zombies, the apocalypse, Xu Qiaofeng showing up with his whole emotional baggage. But the real conflict is internal and it is exhausting. Every interaction Wen Chi has is a performance. She has to make Jiang Jiming believe she genuinely likes him while she is literally counting down the days until her cannon fodder death. The system told her the script and she has to follow it or die. But here is the thing—the author keeps pulling the rug out from under us. Is Jiang Jiming actually falling for her, or is he playing a game too? When he says Better trick me your whole life, is that genuine affection or is he testing her? And what about Xu Qiaofeng? He came all this way through the apocalypse for her. He remembers every detail—how she used to cling to him as a child, how she always chose him. And she has to look him in the eye and tell him no. Not because she does not care, but because the plot demands it. The guilt she feels is real, and that makes the conflict so much more painful. She is trapped between two men and neither of them knows the full truth. The stakes keep escalating too. A-Lou notices her pink pupils. He notices that zombies avoid her. He is putting pieces together and Jiang Yi is covering for her with that colored contacts line that nobody believes. The net is closing. Every chapter raises the question—how long before someone figures out what she really is?

"Oh, That should've killed them all... Whatever did you do?" John says to Justin
"Yeah, so I need to wash myself," He sighed, "This storm is actually terrible."
Despite what she said, Wen Mei Xiang knew where he truly came from. And it was a world that's vastly different from this world. If her memory serves her right, she came from a technologically advanced world where one could communicate with each other using a device that had the same size as a person's palm.
