This is the first book I read from this app. I enjoyed it. It was a great story. It was so sweet that they just keep finding each other throughout their many lifetimes. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance!

Can we just talk about how complicated Shen Xingbai is as a character? The man is a walking contradiction and I am HERE for it. On one hand, he's this possessive, obsessive guy who literally thinks about breaking Ji Rou's legs when he sees her at that hotel. That's dark. Like, genuinely dark. But then he can't go through with it because she looks at him with those innocent eyes and reminds him of the little girl from his past? And he's tormented by the question 'have you also been reborn, just like me?' I swear my heart actually hurt reading that monologue. The childhood flashback was devastating in the best way—she asked him to marry her and he got so flustered and promised her he'd be a hundred times better than the groom on TV. And then his legs were taken away and his whole world collapsed. The contrast between that sweet, hopeful boy and the man he became? Brutal. He's still holding onto that promise even though she 'changed' in university. That's not obsession, that's devotion twisted by trauma. And Ji Rou? She's playing this delicate game where she has to pretend she doesn't know about his golden eyes or his rebirth, or he'll suspect her. The fact that she still accepted his jade and pretended to believe he could make money? She's surviving. They're both surviving, just in different ways.
