What a great story!
Xiao Guodong. His name literally means 'little country pillar.' His grandfather named him hoping he'd grow up to become a pillar of the nation. And the system just confirmed it — this child carries national destiny. Not metaphorically. Actually, literally, in the mechanics of this story's universe. But here's what I keep turning over: the Xiao family lost everything politically, were sent to the bottom of society, forced to clean cow dung, and yet the grandfather still names his grandson something that expresses hope for the country. That's not ignorance. That's faith so deep it becomes a kind of rebellion. In a world that has declared them worthless, they refuse to stop believing in something greater. And Hehua's realization about this — that so many people who were sent down lost hope even after rehabilitation, becoming ordinary and unremarkable, while the Xiao family still held onto conviction — that's the story's moral center right there. The system tells her never to do evil because it seems small, never to skip doing good because it seems insignificant. Every choice compounds. Every act of kindness or cruelty echoes forward. The children bullying Xiao Guodong aren't evil. They're mirrors. They're reflecting back everything the adults have taught them about power and punishment and who deserves suffering.
Wow! What an amazing story! Cool plot and great writing skills. I like how you challenge your characters, making this a perfect read. Please do update often! :)
