After reading the raws (up to chap 300) I'm quite disappointed. I'm an avid fan of beast taming novels and this one made me feel sad for how the writing quality deteriorated from the beginning. He actually became a Gary Sue. Shi Yu easily fixed every problem that he faced. No hardship whatsoever. The only think that kept me going is the evolution patterns of his beasts. He kept getting stronger and stronger, most materials for evolution were handed out to him by the Gem Cat and even Eleven finished 3 inscriptions after meeting the Turtle of Emperor Wu. I didn't see him struggling that much. He constantly made research discoveries from the Iron eating beasts to the Green Cotton worms. He contracted a high level overlord heroic spirit in an instant, you can even say that even though he had a test. He still easily passed it. There a lot of other scenes like these in the novel where he is basically the darling of the universe and all things go in his way. There are also a lot of anime references. From the heroic spirits, dragon ball, and reincarnated as a slime. Honestly, at first I was not bothered but I really dislike how the author almost copied all the concepts. Emperor Shidi had built a ruin where you can contact Heroic Spirits of the past, a strong purification totem reincarnated as a slime, and a dragon ball appeared that helped woth buggy's evolution.Lastly, I really dislike how outrageous the novel is. For example, when he went into the Dragon Palace he created a department. Oh, he also defeated the 2nd and 3rd prince of the dragon palace. Currently, he even decided yo create a movie. He also sucked the time ruin in imperial university. Cracked emperor Wu's ruin. And many more. And all of the characters reaction are always "I've never seen anything like this" or "all beasts and humans are stunned and shocked" the fact that he can ALWAYS shock totem level beasts are outrageous and repitative.Honestly, the start was good but the writing went downhill. I'm hoping that the author don't do these things in the future.I don't knlw what I'm writing but I'm just really dissatisfied with how the novel had become.

This novel has an amazing plot, with twists and suspense filling every chapter. It starts off slowly and a little ambiguous in the plot, but then it turns into an epic story with everything a reader could hope for. The cliffhanging chapters and nail bitting suspensful moments leave me aching for more chapters everyday. This Novel is simply AMAZING.

This novel is a jem. Honestly I’m surprised it’s not premium, but at the same time I’m glad it’s not ‘cause then I can read it’s awesomeness for free. Anyways, review time - this is not your stereotypical MC blasts through all opposition novel. Yes, there is an understandable amount of plot armor but this is one of the most realistic novels I have ever read. There’s suffering, unfairness, discrimination, abuse, betrayals, deaths (many, many deaths), blood (this novel is gory), sweat, tears (you will cry for the characters) and more. The characters are very dynamic and change/grow as the story progresses. Also, one of my favorite things is that not just the MC has a rich character profile, the side characters as well are very fleshed out and not the usual 2D supporting cast we usually get. There’s also a great deal of humor and shamelessness that’ll make you laugh - a good balance between humor and action. The astute reader will also find that the author has a fondness for references to both historical and fictional characters/events so don’t be too surprised when it happens. Some readers have commented that they don’t like the references but I enjoy keeping an eye out for them and seeing where the author will take the story next. Also, one of the big things I find that can dissuade a potential reader is that this novel is a very slow starter. Don’t expect the MC to become OP within the first 20 chapters, his buildup is very slow and while it can be frustrating looking back it does set a very good background. Also, the MC is very much an underdog and has to bow, scrape and adjust to the circumstances but as the story progresses he will eventually have enough power to throw his weight around, don’t worry. As far as the music side goes, not sure if this counts as a spoiler or not but musicians in this novel are like mages and their “spells” are cast through songs. It’s mostly along the classical genre, if you’re that invested then look up the referenced songs - they’re all good classics, author has good taste. Also the cover image will make more sense later on in the story, don’t worry. All in all, it is a great novel with a rich plot, complex characters, unique storyline, great humor, action and is full of twists and turns and a great deal of character development. A must read!

Its pretty original. Thats a rare thing on this site. Although i have read novels with similar settings in the past, they havent been quite like this. It feels a little similar to scholar's Advanced Technological system, but with less slice of life aspects
