The Unwanted Who Became a Figure Skating Champion

Jiu Sheng, a legendary male ballet dancer who once graced the cover of Time magazine, transmigrates into the body of a thirteen-year-old boy with the same name. The original host was born into a prominent figure skating family in China, where his father, Jiu Wen Sang, is a renowned coach and his mother, Luo Ming Qiu, is a choreographer. His fraternal twin brother, Jiu Li, is a figure skating prodigy hailed as the future hope of the sport, while the original Jiu Sheng was considered a useless failure due to a severe phobia of performing in front of others. Bullied at school and neglected by his family, the original host committed suicide by slitting his wrists, leading to Jiu Sheng’s transmigration.

Upon awakening, Jiu Sheng discovers his new body’s latent talent for figure skating, which had been suppressed by anxiety. Unlike his brother, who excels technically but lacks the same raw intensity, Jiu Sheng brings the grace, flexibility, and fearless aggression of a world-class ballet dancer to the ice. He purchases secondhand skates and visits a local rink, where he encounters his former bully, Jiang Xu Guang. Defying expectations, Jiu Sheng performs a flawless double Axel and attempts a triple Axel, shocking the provincial coaches Song Yang and Xu Zhou who are watching from the sidelines. Although he falls during the triple Axel attempt, his rotation is nearly complete, revealing extraordinary potential.

Xu Zhou offers to coach Jiu Sheng, who accepts after witnessing the Junior Grand Prix Final on television. In this parallel world, Chinese figure skating has not reached the podium in over twenty years, and Japan’s skater Miyazaki Hirano wins silver, further humiliating Chinese fans. Motivated by a desire to bring glory to his country and the thrill of competition, Jiu Sheng joins the provincial team. His family remains indifferent and biased toward Jiu Li, but Jiu Sheng confronts them with newfound confidence, eating his brother’s specially prepared meal and declaring his intention to win gold before his twin does.

Training under Xu Zhou, Jiu Sheng rapidly masters advanced jumps. He challenges Lin Feng, the provincial team’s top National-level athlete, to an Axel jump contest and dominates him, eventually landing a perfect triple Axel in front of the entire team. His flexibility and jump height exceed those of senior skaters, and within weeks, he learns multiple triple jumps, including the difficult triple Axel combined with a triple toe loop. Despite his talent, he faces skepticism due to his lack of competitive experience and the team’s preference for Lin Feng, who is injured before the National Championships selection.

Jiu Sheng is chosen to represent the province at the upcoming National Figure Skating Championships. He designs a striking red costume and selects challenging musical pieces, including the ballet-based "Red Sun" for his free skate. As he prepares for his first major competition, Jiu Sheng’s rapid rise threatens the status quo, drawing jealousy from peers like Jiang Xu Guang and attention from rivals. The story follows his journey from an overlooked outcast to a formidable competitor aiming to break China’s long medal drought and surpass his celebrated brother on the international stage.
