The novel, as it often does, deviates from its title and description. My initial assumption was that after the nation's top-notch hero, K, made a proposal, the emperor would readily accept, and the antics with the princesses would ensue. However, it seems that nobody in the castle recognizes the hero's prowess, and only one princess, who they met when they were young, greets him upon his arrival. It's almost as if there's been a recent mass murder of the royal staff, given all the unexplained events. The protagonist then finds himself in a situation where he must constantly prove his extraordinary abilities to win the princesses' affection, making the story more of a lighthearted comedy than anything else.

I find this narrative both captivating and intriguing, simultaneously. The author skillfully drops hints about the main character's mysterious past, leaving readers eager to uncover the reasons behind his cold exterior and the looming sense of doom. And, of course, the addition of five princesses adds an unexpected twist. Although the journey might be filled with ups and downs, it's definitely worth embarking on. I must commend SacredText/Fenrir for their outstanding translation. In essence, I'd urge, "Why wait? Dive right in!"
