Note to author: Please don’t give up writing your story, no matter what people say in the reviews. Nothing is more satisfying then to get the story in your head down for someone else to read :P Take the comments to heart, but don’t take them personally. Constructive criticism? Work at improving your craft so your story can constantly improve. Best way to edit is to read what you wrote out loud; your ear will hear when to use punctuation, those natural pauses. Pay attention to when the way you read it doesn’t match HOW you wrote it. Make sense? Watch for run-on sentences, which are long sentences that work better when broken into two or more sentences.Mentally use both words, like “they are” instead of “their/they’re” so it’s easier to see when to use the contraction.Do your own personal edit before you post. The fewer grammatical errors there (their/they’re) are, the more people will focus on the content of your story.Good luck, and enjoy the experience!
