Three chapters in, and this has got to be the most wtf way to test out whether something cures poison.Step 1: Feed annoying barking dog with meat full of rat poison.Step 2: Walk right into the house once the dog alerts the owners that something’s wrong with it, and tell the owner that their dog was clearly poisoned with rat poison (with no explanation as to why you know this).Step 3: Shove your weird yellow cucumber into the dog’s mouth, ignoring the yelps of the owner who don’t know wtf you’re suddenly doing.Step 4: ???Step 5: The dog gets up like nothing happened and you leave like this is completely normal. The owners stand there not knowing wtf just happened.Step 6: Think of poisoning the dog again with something strongerWtf

It's just average - not terrible, but not exceptional either, which is why I gave it three stars. The romance aspect is quite lackluster; even the supporting characters receive more attention than the main male lead (ML). The ML feels almost like a background presence or an afterthought. I wasn't satisfied with the romantic development; it lacks depth and sweetness, coming across as平淡.

Surprisingly, I haven't seen many reviews mentioning the unusual dynamic between the ML and FL, where the FL, a 50+ soul trapped in a 20-something-year-old body, is in a relationship with a 19-year-old ML. Her maturity is evident in her actions and dialogue, often treating the ML as if he were younger. It's odd how she doesn't seem to perceive him as a peer. Can you imagine the reverse scenario, with a 50+ ML pursuing a 19-year-old FL?

In summary, if you're seeking a romance-focused story, this might not be your cup of tea. However, if you're looking for a casual read or want to learn about China's economy during the late 80s and early 90s, it could serve that purpose.

I appreciate the storytelling pace and find the content engaging enough to read. However, the fact that it's not free is understandable given the effort required for translation. Unfortunately, I'm encountering some confusion with the translation. Despite being in the 50s chapter, I am still unclear about the FL's father's actual name. There are also inconsistencies in naming and pronoun usage for other characters. A machine translation might provide a similar experience.

The story itself is enjoyable, and I particularly admire the FL's practical approach. She focuses on financial success rather than seeking revenge, which sets her apart from the typical重生 female leads who tend to be overly sentimental even at a middle-aged mental age. I would love to see a more accurate translation to fully appreciate the story.
