I'll update my review after a few more chapters. Great job, Translator! I love this story. I'm excited to see what happens next, but I really enjoy the development and character building so far. The main character isn't too overpowered, and the female lead is really cute ?.

Take heed that this is a cultivation novel. Cultivation novels often involve grinding and frequent time lapses. This is standard for the genre, so if you're not a fan of this style, you might want to steer clear of novels tagged as cultivation. That said, the concept and setup here are quite unique. It’s particularly interesting how the main character (MC) spends time inside the original's body while the original is still alive, spanning an entire arc! I’ve only seen this done in one or a couple of other stories. The MC acts like a second personality, trying to survive while hiding his existence from the original.

I appreciate that the MC also has villainous moments, which makes sense given that he receives the original's memories and body. In my opinion, this is one of the most realistic aspects of a transmigration story where the MC ends up in a villain’s body. Starting at a high position (like a Maou or Demon King), he tries to prevent the original’s tragic fate to save himself and fulfill his system mission, but it’s a close call. He eventually encounters the novel’s protagonist, who is still very young at the moment. The male lead (ML) is a younger seme.

Regarding the mpreg aspect, it involves a snake egg. Divine beast cultivators have developed a pill that allows males to become pregnant, and the MC was forcibly given this pill. He had to navigate this situation blindly, as it goes beyond what is typically written about in such stories. It’s endearing that the egg can mentally communicate with both parents while still inside. The MC, meanwhile, struggles with a sense of unreality and has a hard time accepting his pregnancy, which is completely understandable.

I enjoy the world-building and the complexities involving time and world dimensions. The battles are fantastic, and the MC’s tribulation is especially thrilling and intense, with enemies lurking everywhere. Even though they are powerful, they face significant challenges and setbacks. They aren’t overpowered (OP) but instead combine their innate strengths with hard work and determination. Their resilience and tenacity are what ultimately lead to their victories.

I recommend skimming through the descriptions; they can get tedious. You really only need about 25% of the information from the world-building sections. The premise involves noncon elements, but it gets points for the novelty of the main character's identity. The relationship does develop over time and has a "sugar mama-boytoy" dynamic. Once you get past the filler, the author doesn't drag out their development.

It was interesting at the start, with some cute moments throughout. I appreciated how, despite the main character (MC) eventually becoming weaker than the male lead (ML), he still strived to improve and protect his family.

I haven't seen many transmigration novels where the MC alternates control of their body with the original soul before the original dies, which added a unique twist.

I also enjoyed how the ML's growth and progression were detailed. The training arcs were well thought out and explained. For example, there was a tower progression arc where the MC and ML had to advance through different levels of a "tower."

There are also some very explicit scenes (mostly in the beginning), which you can choose to skip or not.

, I would rate this 3.5/5 if it weren't for the issues after the time skip. It felt like the author had forgotten what they had written earlier (they even mentioned this in some author notes), and the plot lost coherence. It began to feel like a poorly written fan fiction of a discontinued story. If you decide to read this, you might actually have a better experience by stopping before the time skip rather than finishing the entire novel.

I'm currently on chapter 12... Honestly, I feel bad for the original villain....

He was constantly getting betrayed, used, and abused. It's like, bro... is it any wonder why he turned dark? Why he wants revenge? And then, out of nowhere, our transmigrator main character (MC) just possesses his body and plans to take it without a second thought, kicking out the original owner or apparently destroying his soul. Then, all of a sudden, a wild golden-finger system appears??? I don't know about you, but I want a proper side story for the poor original villain who got betrayed left, right, and center, and then literally had his body stolen by the MC and a system... Now, I don't know if the original villain is truly dead, but I'm hoping later chapters allow him to be reincarnated or something.

Imagine this:

Imagine you're a person from a good family, minding your own business, and suddenly some guys plot against you, stab you in the back, try to kill you, and then some snake guy shows up to poison you with some aphrodisiac pregnancy medicine, demanding that you birth an heir for him. WHO WOULDN'T WANT ULTIMATE REVENGE? But before you can even enact that vengeance, you get betrayed once again by your new subordinates and your "best friend" AGAIN, and just when you think it can't get any worse... some dude and a system transmigrate into your body, destroy your soul, and go on their way....

Since I'm still not too far in, I'll refrain from saying anything about the plot holes...

Update: I'm on chapter 24, and the male lead (ML) is cute lol, but I still don't like the MC; his hypocritical side is starting to show... Usually, with Chinese novels, the smut is very censored, but I was surprised to see it wasn't in these couple of chapters... It's even detailed lol. I must say.... the smut is (͡º˵ ل͟ ͡º˵) hehe not bad *Chef's kiss*

I love the main character (MC). He isn't overpowered (OP). In fact, you can see that he is trying to save his life and his family's lives. Gradually, he becomes the weakest in his family of three ?. From the strongest to the weakest. It's both frustrating and endearing. He tries to become stronger, but unfortunately, a dragon ate the mightiest. Poor MC.

The male lead (ML) seems simple, honest, and kind. But he has brains, thank goodness. He starts weak and gradually grows stronger. He isn't OP because he works hard for it. He falls in love with the MC first. Especially when he learns about the MC's past and realizes that this person, who appears cold and cruel, is actually the kindest and most honest to him. The one who always thinks of what's best for him. So, the ML will do his best to protect the MC and their son. I hope he succeeds. I haven't reached the end yet.

The baby is adorable. He may seem cool and scary to others, but when you get to know him personally, he's just a kid. Loved by heaven.

I love the story. It seems simple but is deeply meaningful. The characters are three-dimensional. You can see the greediness of humans, the love and the desire to protect those you care about, and the ability to choose right from wrong. I read it from a machine translation, and it's quite easy to follow. Just be prepared to use your imagination a bit. , it's a great book.
