It wasn't a terrible read, but I struggle to give it more than a 3.5 rating. The main character's straightforward nature was a breath of fresh air, but the female lead缺乏 uniqueness and felt quite generic. Although their interactions were sweet, I disliked the pacing of their relationship development. The story began intensely with her confession and determination to win his heart, but she became rather passive afterwards. I felt they should have taken their relationship to the next level earlier. The focus on her childhood trauma, which isn't overly significant, and the subsequent dragging out of their connection felt overdone. The shift from an exciting start to a slow-building romance didn't resonate with me, and it fell short of my initial expectations. I couldn't continue reading past that point.
