The story does touch on nationalism, with the MC having a strong aversion towards those who bear grudges and resort to violence. If that's not a concern for you, you might enjoy it. However, the ending leaves much to be desired, as it seems the author ran out of ideas. It's more like a typical "happily ever after" conclusion without any depth or closure.
