Is it just me or is the fl incredibly shallow and mercenary? Any grevience she has or suffers its all good so long as he throws something expensive her way? Am I overreacting?

Because he can, you have this logic because of planet earth and mostly religion stuff.
But if you go into another universe, where god interact with the world and won't care about killing and stuff, the world would be totally different from ours. Especially if there is superpowers and magic involved.

Now, the first timeline's male lead eventually finds himself in the current timeline, while the first timeline's female lead is still alive. In the second timeline, she learns of their past, but chooses not to seek revenge. Everyone ends up happy, including me, making it a satisfying conclusion.

If you enjoy Yandere stories with shorter chapters, I would give this a solid 4.8 out of 5 stars.

2. Giving him spicy food to test him seems like a childish method, rather than a serious assessment of his true nature.

3. As a general's daughter, FL's kindness is commendable, but expecting someone to genuinely change for the better after avoiding anger merely because of spicy food is unrealistic. It's implausible that he wouldn't fake it.

4. Sewing boots for ML is another illogical action from a noblewoman, especially considering the potential gossip it could generate. A servant, male or not, deserves more plausible displays of affection.

While the story's sweetness is enjoyable when logic is set aside, I prefer novels with deeper intrigue. This one felt too simple, almost like a sugar-coated treat with no intellectual challenge. I deducted one star for the lack of substance, acknowledging that it caters more to those who appreciate simpler fare.
