The initial concept of the story is promising, but I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with the main character (MC). They consistently lie without any valid reason or a compelling explanation provided by the author. Apart from being a disciple of Danfemg, they don't seem to make any real effort to generate income independently. Even in their disciple role, they lack enthusiasm or dedication. It would be helpful if someone could shed light on the MC's redeeming qualities, as the female lead's (FL) potential blindness towards them feels similar to how she might perceive the male lead (ML).

I've read up to Chapter 100 of the MTL version, and there's an instance in Chapter 80 where the main character (MC) drops a jade pendant during a fight, hoping her protagonist friend would find it, achieving a multi-purpose outcome. However, I find her logic confusing.

Firstly, giving it to him as a gift would have been a safer and more straightforward way to accomplish the first goal, and she could have still pursued the other objectives whenever convenient.

Secondly, MC unnecessarily joined a conflict beyond her role, when she could have shared crucial information anonymously or directly without risking herself.

Thirdly, it's baffling why she fought and then tried to escape instead of acknowledging her involvement and benefiting from it.

The MC's behavior is inconsistent. Although she engages in conversations about "protagonists" as if it's common knowledge, suggesting she's not secretive, she constantly tells lies (presumably for comedic effect), which doesn't mesh well with a realistic narrative. What's frustrating is that she keeps vital details hidden from close friends, even if it could simplify their lives without altering the plot.

As I progress, the MC's irrational actions become increasingly annoying. I hope future chapters see her adopting a more realistic mindset, prioritizing safety and convenience.

I have been following this for quite some time now. The protagonist brings a hilarious and laid-back vibe to the entire story, making it an enjoyable, light read. However, beneath the surface, there are profound themes that tug at the heartstrings, urging the reader to delve into the weightier aspects. There might be more, but these are the main ones I've noticed. It's a yuri genre I haven't encountered before, and the complexity of the plot keeps me puzzled and intrigued.

5. Ye Ze (Main Male Lead): Orphaned by the demon sect, befriended Xia Ge as a beggar. Joined Lingxi Sect as an inner court disciple. Prideful and hurt by his family's fate, he becomes entangled with MC, eventually leading to a broken bond.

Overall Impression:
The story starts messy and ends weakly, with the author trying to patch plot holes through extensive flashbacks. The title may mislead, as some harem members don't align with the original main character. After a turning point, he's largely forgotten, serving as a secondary character. Many readers may find Xia Ge's treatment towards the end suffocating, contrasting with her initial freedom. The pacing could improve, as the consequences of actions weigh heavily on the narrative. Overall, the book earns a 3.5/5 rating.
