I swear im not biased cuz i know the guy... its a genuinely good story :)
Keep writing author san! I would definitely give this novel a try if you sick of the stereotypical fantasy world tropes. Although it doesn't take anything away from a good fantasy story, it gives off a lot more mature and realistic approach to the world of magic, that i haven't quite seen before.
