First of all, please fix the lump of text meshed together in some chapters that make the story really hard to read. Other than this formatting issue, the translation is top quality. FYI, don't get scared away by the formatting mess in the first chapter. I actually almost dropped the novel because of that. Persist and you'll be rewarded. I have been looking for a horror novel with good story telling, like My House of Horrors and Dreadful Radio Game. (Plague Doctor is just too confusing for me.) Midnight Bookstore definitely fits the bills. It's made up of many exceptionally good ghost stories. Pros:- A smart MC- A funny side kick friend- An interesting walking female corpse- A creepy Envoy of Hell kid- No homophobic undertone- So many curve balls and plot twists that you don't see coming (it really makes you doubt every character that appears)- Many of the ghost tales are in the gray area (there's no black and white, it's hard to tell who's right or wrong)Cons:- Will this novel ever get picked up from the trial read?!- How long do I have to wait?!- And oh yeah, please fix the formatting issue. Other thoughts:- MC's store is not a Midnight bookstore, more like a late night bookstore since it doesn't only open at midnight (in fact, it even opens during daytime)- MC is always thinking about sleeping with his wife (but not in a perverted way-ish?). But thanks to his side kick friend though, now he has a psychological issue he got to overcome before he can do that ???- The bone-chilling terrifying element isn't that prominent here. But that is offset by good-story telling. So, not a con per se. Overall: Definitely worth my time.
Hey author,i like you work but at the beginning you have typo and grammar errors.since im idle i edited it for you for free,if you want it,ill send it via email.its only chapter 1 today coz its already 2 am here, maybe i do some more later
Interesting to read, and keeps you waiting for the next chapter. Nice fictional characters and good sequencial dipiction of events. Waiting for the next chapters. Keep the good work done. The use of martial arts kept my interest because I love martial arts. I am rating this novel/book because it is very interesting to read.
Interesting system novel. The author gives plenty of information about the character’s stats so that you never need to feel lost or guess. The MC is likable and, as may be expected, wants to be the best. It’s a fun, easy read. Give it a try!
OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP,OP.And its so good good good good.More chaps.pls.THIS IS GREAT,keep going.!!!!
This is an opinion based off of a small part of the story, so be sure to at least attempt reading before developing your own opinions;Honestly, I couldn’t bother with reading more than the first couple chapters, as I lost interest rather quickly. Everything, from characters to plot, seem incredibly bland. It feels flat, and rather lifeless. Maybe it’s just lack of experience writing, or maybe things are lost in translation, regardless this just wasn’t engaging enough to bother reading. The formatting being a mess was just icing on top of the cake.
Despite all other unfavorable comments, I still love this book. To me, it's by far very interesting.Translation is fine and consistent. Expecting for more chapters.
Warning spoilersI love this book but even tho I’m born and raised Jewish with German ancestry.Due to the Jewish part already had mixed feelings although very minor. The German ancestry sure helped. BTW not currently religious at all. The book is a sci fi masterwork in its own way. But my criticisms are that the all around racism everyone has towards each other gets in the way. If it’s not racism somebody hates each other for whatever reason. Still it adds to the conflict of the story so it’s whatever. Lastly the MC although around when he is almost 30 acts like a petty petulant man child. I mean come on almost three years of not resolving a relationship with a girl you didn’t even try truly getting to know. On top of the fact that she is stuck in the same boat. I get the resentment on both sides but it irked me the way he felt entitled and was childish. But it got resolved although should have happened sooner.
