Meh juvenile comedy "oi yer a big bloke ain't ya" is not a comedy. Meh "magical realism", naming a system "goldfinger" and giving it a personality is meh, both it and MC are on the same level of stupidity just on different spectrums, one is naive retard, the other is a psycho retard.

MC not being completely hopeless and dead inside after 2 years inside a disgusting stomach of a sea serpent is weird, he did neither explore the memories of the original nor became hopeless and cynical, instead he became a naive and childish retard. The kinda of trauma he should've had considering how mentally weak he is - is not just not compatible with how he acts.

If you didn't read anything decent in a while you might as well read this average novel, if you read something good - just stay away.

I don't know what i expected considering the name of the novel, but high rating is just misleading.

I dont get why ppl were complaining abt how the MC was nerfed in the story, this at first led me to not wanting to read it but i buckled down and read it, the story actually tellls u why he was nerfed and if u dont get the reason why he was nerfed then dude/ette u will need to get ur brain checked. Other than that, I found no problems with the writing quality or anything for that matter wrong with it except the part where the MC doesn't want to read through his predecessors knowledge bcuz he fears he will lose himself which seems like a pretty dumb reason when he could die at any moment if he gets caught or lacks a certain skill or piece of knowledge that could get him out of that situation.

I personally just don't really understand the point of putting villain in the title then making the mc a good guy. Also how tf did the thousands of years worth of memories not affect his personality or thoughts at all even consuming certain amounts of other media will somewhat affect your thoughts.

Okay so I've ran into this many many times. Didn't start reading it. I always left it in the list of "read this at some point". I regret the amount of trash I looked through...when I could have started reading this.

The beginning of the story is very enjoyable but compared to the rest of the story it feels lackluster.

I love the jokes. Sure I was sleep deprived when I first started reading but the comedy is most certainly not lacking.

The world of the story and the connections etc are extremely fitting. It is all somewhat chaotic but I enjoy it.

The characters are...well they're characters. They aren't all just carbon copies of each other. There's actual substance. If they're presented with a choice they make one that fits them and their situation. They make choices based on things within their realms of understanding. If you see someone arguing in a bar, you'll probably think "At best they know how to fight. Laws do in fact exist...they might kill but yea". That is thinking in your realm of understanding. If one person suddenly burns people into ashes your logical side might be like "I stand corrected. That mfing dude just used some magic fire bs...I surrender." Also the cliches are pointed out and such, which always feels nice. Even if that in and of itself is a cliche.

I wrote a good bit but still feels like I haven't said enough. Just read it. I suggest reading at least 20-30 chapters before passing any judgment. Obviously your time and your choice but if you enjoy op characters and comedy then I suggest sticking around.
