Wen Ze, a twenty-four-year-old graduate student in agricultural science, dies from a heart attack while working in an experimental field. He awakens in a dark cave in a primitive beast world, where humans exist as either beastmen who can transform into animals or half-beastmen with partial animal features. He has possessed the body of a同名 half-beastman from the South Mountain Tribe who died after falling from a cliff. Wen Ze finds his eight-year-old brother, Yin He, a panda half-beastman, crying by his side. The original owner’s spirit had asked Wen Ze to take care of his brother, setting the foundation for their close relationship. Wen Ze learns that this world is harsh, with limited resources and a society where strength determines status. Beastmen are powerful warriors and hunters, while half-beastmen are generally weaker but serve as gatherers and craftspeople.

His journey from a confused transmigrator to a valued community member sets the stage for further adventures, as he navigates the complexities of beastman society while building a new life with Yin He and Zhuo Mu.
