Try to imagine you live in kungfu universe like, "once upon a time in china" with wong fei hung (jet li), with addition video game theme and unusual sect. I think it's a good idea to push this novel into the pool. Please, when the beggar sect make a scene, I don't wanna miss it

An interesting twist our MC is more of a detective in a wuxia setting. The pacing is a bit slow at first but picks up. Overall an interesting premise.

It's not a best novel here, but it suits my taste, so I'll try read it further and write a comment here.

i enjoyed it quite a bit. the plots could be better but I am curious about how hes gonna tide his career in this mind prison/game.

If you saw pugilistic and thought sweet a fist fighting boxing style of story you will be disappointed.

A pugilist is a fist fighting boxing style for which the title misleads. (I didn't know it was boxing specific but I knew it had involved fist fighting)

The main character uses a sword.
This is my first of 2 gripes.
The second is that it the writing seems to almost rely on the fact that people have some prior knowledge of the setting.
I've haven't struggled to follow along though so it isn't story breaking
The story is otherwise fairly interesting with a great translation.

We've all seen the 'on a long space trip so everyone is stuck in a VRMMO' trope before, but I have to say that this is a new twist on the genre.  This is more xuanhuan mystery than the usual 'wuxia cultivation overlord' you see.  Our MC is drafted to be an imperial detective and apprehend criminals and solve crimes.  It's truly fascinating if you like mysteries (and boring if you don't).  So far, I quite like it!
