The novel... it's alright. Potentially, it holds great promise as a captivating story in the distant future, where the protagonist becomes an unrivaled cultivator among mortal beings. However, there are a few concerns.

Firstly, if the narrative were to revolve solely around a modern-day setting with Great Xia, Cherry Blossom Country, and Eagle Nation, it would likely fall flat and lose its appeal. I hope the author explores alternative avenues of technological advancement rather than staying within these confines. I'm rooting for that.

Secondly, the protagonist's character development needs a significant overhaul. Currently, he comes across as somewhat of a underachiever – not in a cowardly sense, but more as a weak-willed and slow-minded individual. His daily cultivation routine is lackluster, and he lacks interest in diversifying his skills like alchemy or blacksmithing. Additionally, his preoccupation with sexuality feels excessive, with the character frequently expressing his preference for prostitutes over genuine relationships, which detracts from the narrative.

Truth be told, a darker turn in the plot, where the protagonist gains a profound understanding of mortality and distances himself emotionally from others, watching from the sidelines, would make for a compelling read. Unfortunately, I doubt such a trajectory is likely.

Lastly, while the translation is decent, it's not exceptional. There are no glaring flaws that would warrant a deduction in quality. Overall, it's an average read, with potential for improvement in certain aspects.

It's incredibly frustrating to come across this. The main character, having two close family members, Lin Die (half-sister) and Lin Ying (sister), chooses to abandon his family claiming an eternal life prevents them from knowing. This would be tolerable if, after centuries, he reconnected as a revered Golden Core cultivator. However, the issue arises when, shockingly, he reunites with them at the Golden Core stage 300 chapters in. The author forces him to pretend to be his own son, which is baffling. There's even a内心的独白 expressing his longing to reveal his true identity and be with his family. I stopped reading at chapter 300, realizing the MC's identity concealment would persist indefinitely.

Aside from that, the writing is commendable, and the characters are engaging with distinct personalities. If you can accept the constant identity hiding throughout the story, I'd recommend giving it a read.

The story exhibits considerable promise, but it's too premature to assign a rating at this stage. I'll provide one after reading more. Up until now, the novel delivers as advertised. Character interactions are its strongest aspect, while world-building could use improvement. Initially, I'd give it 4 stars, leaning towards 3.5.

I'm curious about how the author will handle the current era, as Chinese novels set in our time often struggle with authenticity due to stereotypes.
