Despite my desire for Bai Lin to face more consequences, I feel the resolution was satisfactory, if not perfect. It was a gratifying read overall. Just a minor spoiler: I would have liked to see the truth about Yu Mian's biological parents, given their influential backgrounds, but that aspect remained ambiguous. The ML is an absolute gem, supporting MC wholeheartedly and quietly from the background, knowing that he deserves the best. Multiple characters mention his mixed appearance, which is later confirmed when it's revealed that his father is European. If the plan was to pass off an adopted child as their own, it doesn't make logical sense that they'd choose someone like the MC, who is at least partly of a different racial background. If there's an explanation for this, I must have missed it.

The narrative indeed held promise, but regrettably, it fell short in the end due to cliches and stereotypes. The character dynamics were predictable, featuring a cool and aloof ML and an attractive, talented MC. The translation itself is commendable, and it remains an enjoyable read. However, I can't help but feel disappointed that the author didn't fully explore the intriguing aspects they initially hinted at, such as the blush-inducing shyness of the ML when flirted with – that would have been a refreshing twist. Why settle for the typical overbearing CEO trope when there was so much potential for a more nuanced development?

I'm unsure if I can continue with this book. It started as a decent low-calorie read for passing the time, but now it feels stretched out – I'd say it should have ended after around 100 chapters, ideally 80 would've sufficed. The repetition is becoming monotonous, and I'm reaching my limit.

The cliches are unbearable; it's like a terrible imitation of a dating show. The logic just doesn't hold up – if this were real life, these characters would have faced consequences much sooner. There are numerous plot holes that bother me, and I can't help but notice subtle racist undertones, possibly due to the translation (though I'm not certain).

The constant praise of the main character's beauty and cuteness feels forced and repetitive. If you're going to highlight it, at least vary the descriptions. Additionally, the translation seems off, raising questions about whether some parts were machine translated.
