Title: Main Story 146 Complete + 1 Side Story
Rating: 3.91/5
Read Date: August 6, 2024
Personal Enjoyment: 3.7/5
The story was decent, but I had higher expectations due to its high rating. It did justify the praise with a competent translator, a logically structured plot without excessive filler, and an intriguing blend of European setting, monsters, and religious magic. The BL aspect was commendable, but the plot felt predictable to me. I could anticipate the main character's journey almost from the beginning, despite enjoying the revelations from his previous life.
Plot: 3.9/5
While simple, the plot progression was satisfactory. Discovering the differences from the MC's initial assumptions was above average, but not groundbreaking. It ranked among the better light novels.
Writing/Translation: 4.3/5
Foxaholic's translation up to chapter 147 was solid, with only minor grammar errors that didn't detract much. There were occasional awkward sentences, and the MC's perspective occasionally showcased an overly childlike tone.
Pacing: 3.8/5
The pacing was generally good, but a lull occurred when the MC focused on an uneventful revelation from his past. I wished the significance of this event was emphasized earlier, as it felt like a forced detour.
Setting/Worldbuilding: 3.9/5
The European setting brought some novelty, but the worldbuilding could have been more immersive. It provided some variety, but lacked depth.
Characters: 3.9/5
The main characters were likable, but many supporting characters were underdeveloped. The antagonist redemption arcs were a pleasant surprise, but the main villain's motivations felt weak.
Romance: 3.9/5
The romance was decent, with a sweet buildup and growth between the couple. However, once they were together, my interest waned. The recent conflict seemed unnecessary, which contributed to my decision to stop reading.

Overall, while the story had its strengths, the predictability and lack of surprises led me to rate it slightly lower. A stronger emphasis on plot twists and character development could have made it more compelling.
