If I had to give this novel a tag, it would be: #It gets worse before it gets better

The one thing I look for in transmigration/reincarnation novels is how the main character (MC) remembers their past life. Sometimes it feels awkward, especially when they act like a completely different person without anyone noticing. Other times, it’s handled well, such as when the MC starts remembering their past life while they are still a baby.

In this novel, our MC begins to recall her past memories at a young age, which makes it feel less awkward and contributes to a smoother overall pacing.

Typically, in these stories, the original parents (OG parents) get a clear happy ending after the villain is defeated, often leading to the children living happily ever after. However, this story takes a unique turn. Even in her original world, the MC recognizes that her father in the new world was a scumbag. The villainess supposedly tried to kill the father's wife, but it still seems strange that the MC would completely abandon the fiancé of the person who helped raise her, especially after her father was labeled a traitor. This results in them living in the countryside, which just feels very suspicious to me.

Translations are still at only a very early stage, so it's hard to say much about the story, and as such, I won't give it a final rating at this point. **Tentatively, I'd rate it 4/5** so far, but that can easily go up or way down to the bottom depending on how the story develops.

EDIT: As of chapter 8, this is now 3/5, and the story seems to be going hard downhill. I no longer recommend this.

The beginning seems interesting, with the main character (MC) actually rejecting the scumbag and staying adamant (so far) in her rejection, which is a breath of fresh air. The MC and her grandfather feel very vivid as characters despite the short character-building time of 6 chapters.

However, the original male lead's actions seem completely out of place, and his obsession makes no sense, even after it has been explained at least once. Additionally, the plot seems fairly forced when it comes to keeping the original male lead involved with the actual MC. It feels like he is some sort of "keep the MC on her toes" system rather than an actual character.

For example, his out-of-place obsession with his daughter is explained by: "because she carries his blood" and only that, even going as far as to neglect his wife and stepdaughter, the ones for whom he betrayed the family that took him in when he was a traitor's child.

The King of Wind Spirits suddenly pipes up unprompted, kind of out of nowhere after the MC escapes, stating that the MC did indeed escape so that the original male lead can keep obsessing and (probably) tracking her down. At the same time, it's mentioned that the King of Wind Spirits seems to hate the original male lead and is protecting the MC, so?

The original male lead seems to be able to converse with his daughter, except when it comes to listening to what she has to say. (I'll admit that this isn't an unreasonable reaction for him to have when he wants his daughter back, but even so, it comes across as unnaturally forced.)

After reading more chapters, I've concluded that I won't be continuing this novel, here's why:

Each time we get a new character, we get chapters and chapters of backstory before we even become attached or form any opinions about the present character. This is lazy writing and it's really annoying because the plot starts and stops constantly in the name of info dumping. It's a basic rule of storytelling and writing to avoid this. Second, all characters have some form of a tragic backstory, but the focus on these backstories is so intense that we lose the story's focus. At this point, I'm not sure if our Female Lead (FL) is the main character (MC) or if she's just a convenient plot device to show us more tragic backstories.

Third, most character interactions feel artificial, and our Female Main Character (FMC) is basically a Mary Sue. Lastly, the author constantly introduces new pieces of the plot without properly linking or recalling previous plot points. It feels like disjointed slice-of-life plot arcs rather than a set of arcs building a coherent whole.

TL;DR? Probably not worth your time, there are way better novels of similar genres to read.

This could be good (it's too early to tell), but so far it's just a whole lot of rude, abusive male characters who all loved or were involved with the FL's mother (who is dead) and keep abducting her because of their desires.

I do really like the FL and her approach of compromising and fighting back. It's very realistic.

TL;DR: Gotta read more for a true determination, but so far what it's set up is a bit weird and doesn't make a lot of narrative sense (yet).

I know it’s way too early to write a review, but I think this novel deserves one. The plot seems to be good and emotionally engaging.

The title of the novel hints at the main plot, though I suspect there’s more to it. Hopefully, the novel will live up to its full potential.

The main character (MC) is the daughter of a villainous mother and the male lead’s father. I don’t like the male lead yet, but maybe I will in later chapters—though I doubt it. The MC is reincarnated into a novel that has already ended. She lives a very normal life with her grandfather, who is a former high-ranking noble and also the father of the villainous daughter from the novel. In the first chapter, the MC is around 6 or 8 years old and doesn’t know about her true lineage yet.

Both the grandfather and the MC dislike the original male lead.

This really shouldn't have the comedy tag. The story starts off light and humorous but quickly takes a serious turn. Apart from the main character and her grandfather, every other character, whether major or minor, is portrayed in an unlikable manner, serving only to push the main character further down. What begins as a promising read ends up being a rather stressful and unenjoyable experience. If you can, skip this one.

The translation is one of the best I've read so far, and while the story is still in its early stages, I don't have enough basis to say it will be a great story, but it shows great potential, paired with its great pacing.

The genres of this particular novel include comedy, but it leans heavily on its drama aspect, so expect that there won't be a lot of comedic moments.
