They only give 8 free chapter, because they know this story is trash and not worth your coins and free pass.For someone that roaming jianghu long enough you will understand. This novel is like canon fodder young master; created to be trampled. So much overused cliches, It's not surprising that story development would be repetition of face slapping. Characters setting is westerner, i dont even know that our brother in western call their friend full name "Fynn Taylor" every single time. Honestly, it would be better to keep the original chinese name.For someone that still persistence or even enjoy reading this novel. Im proud of you.. you like eating pineapple pizza right?

Quite tough to judge this novel, its obvious that many things are lost in the translation, especially in the first chapters, when many important info, mainly about the world setting, are not well-fully presented. Having said that, the translation quality has improved a lot, its actually not bad now.  Anyway the concept is really interesting and well written, the novel has assimilated most wuxia elements and used them in a "modern"-apocalyptic world. The world build has soooo much potential, there is humour, decent romantic relationships, ruthless-kind mc, actually almost everything.  Its really sad that another great novel of chen dong is undermined, this one by the translation in the first chapters and perfect world by its slow beginning and "abrupt" change of mc's character.

I love this story because of the manhua. Zhou Fan is a great protagonist for a demon cultivator. He's ruthless, manipulative, and cruel. Yet you get fond of him over time. The side characters aren't bad. They get stronger over time with the help of Zhou Fan and you can't help but root for them. What I dislike, IS THE HORRIBLE TRANSLATION!!! The manhua I can understand the story, as the pictures help depict their actions. But the novel makes your eyes hurt. I can't finish a single chapter then I have to stop. If you are willing to go through all the pain, then go ahead. But I'll wait for proper translators to finish before I start reading this novel again.
