I just don't like this novel because...well a lot of stuff but mainly issue that you can come across in all Chinese novels. It's not worth elaborating.

As of chapter 40, this novel can be summed up in one word 'confusing'. It's as if the author decides to write ten horror stories that's happening at the same time. Of course, it'll be confusing. But it might not be as bad if there're better introduction and descriptions of each of the horror stories. Instead, all of them just got randomly thrown out. I get it. It's supposed to be a confusing time in their world, but the readers shouldn't be as confused. Most often than not, readers get thrown into a different scenario shortly after starting the first one, with no transition. I was like 'what? what just happen?' all the time. The MC is also not the brightest cookie and a bit contradictory. He's trying to stay under the radar of the government since he got this human-skin book/scroll that can ****, but he goes to a buffet to eat for >5 hours straight each day without ever leaving to use the restroom while his stomach is still flat. How is that flying under the radar?Right now, there's no plot and no direction. I wouldn't mind the lack of them if the horror stories are more organized. I would have stayed just for those horror stories. Unfortunately, the way they're being written isn't enough to keep me here. Sad :(

Yes that is probably my fault, it was meant to be one of the cheaper camping multitools compared to the more compact and professional ones. The cheaper ones tend to have the tools on the outside you pull out with a fingernail rather than it being self contained properly. I have added the word cheap as a descriptor to help anyone else, Thanks for pointing that out.

How I have needed him.  How I have anguished over his absences.  How inadequate would be any reply I could have made, and he knew very well where I had gone taking my cheque-book and my binoculars with me.  I made no reply and came up here, to write to the one who understood me best and go to what rest I am capable of tonight, or deserve.

I was about to answer when I felt crawling on my legs. I had to move. So I took a huge step back and threw a high kick, strong enough to get the spider thing flying to the blackboard. Clyde then took a book from one of the desks and squat it flat. Red goo squirted out of its flattened body.

The father laughed, interrupting my thoughts. "That's my son!" He said proudly. "I bet you could even put the Crown Prince to shame if you tried!"
