I always make sure to try every every trial that gets a rating over 4. That is what led me to reading this trial read, and having read up to chapter 10- I have some grievances. This story may be better than the average trial read modern-setting system novel- but that is a very low bar to cross.  The translation is competent, and the flow isn't terrible, to the extent that I am not that surprised that this thing has a decent rating. I would certainly continue read something in this voice, if not for a while if not for the very, very large elephant in the room.Harem, is almost universally bad- but it is never as egregiously bad as it is in Japanese light novels.  The plot and story of this novel feel like a Japanese light novel, albeit maybe slightly better, because none of the characters are actually the MC's sisters, they are all of age, and they are also not in the style of the painfully awful harem archetypes that come from anime.This is clear wish fulfillment for thirsty thirsty dudes.More wish fulfillment for people who love power/growth fantasies set in epic Xiaxia settings please.

it's kinda annoying how the author talks like hes in the past but all so the future and he restates the same thing like five times. The book isn't bad it also isn't great.

I feel betrayed. Why? because I had to read till chapter 813 to find out that the first 100 chapters of the novel have been "MISSING" since the author wanted to change platform. I mean is it so hard to put an Auxillary volume stating that the first 100 chapters aren't here in webnovel?? Even furious would be an understatement to my condition right now! Even words can't describe how weirded out I felt when I started reading this novel. Characters that had no background were popping up like normal and the mc wasn't making sense. But I just gritted my teeth and I read this, since the novel was so highly ranked, I thought that I should give it a chance. Never would I have even dreamt that the beginning of this novel wasn't even the beginning! But I wouldn't dare say that I didn't enjoy reading this novel, after like 300 chapters I was starting to genuinely adore this novel.I loved the novel, to be honest, nice humorous way of writing, a Slow but very consistent world and character development, and lots of fun genres mixed into one! Maybe I had loved it so much and expected so much from it that I felt like I was Ceaser being stabbed by Brutus when the author casually dropped a bomb like that when I almost reached 800 chaps!I hope at least now the author would make an Auxillary volume and tell the reader beforehand about the missing chapters before "chapter 1".

this just is a copy of shield hero, it even copies all the essentials of the anime, hero has useless class and can't defeat anyone so he gets a slave that likes him and helps him kill things to level up, but people hate him because he offended the king's daughter, ( or in this case the king ). and then at the last part that I saw of shield hero, he awakens a demonic power that uses his rage

Very interesting and magical! I can't wait for the next chapter! I love how the story goes and is hoping it still continues! I recommend this story for anyone who is interested in reading for fun! Love lots! ♥♥♥
