I think the poem is about her dad falling into evil or some gang or mafia and was supposed to kill joe's dad(rich man) but joe's dad was able to turn it against him and he was almost killed now he is here to finish the job and get his revenge maybe even get some torture of his own personal revenge

why are you Hurt Gloria? Does she really deserve a life where she is getting nothing but pain? What if we get this pain instead of her?
