Translation quality: terrible. The translation quality up to chapter 40 is good, but after that it’s like a switch was flipped and now it’s closer to poorly edited MTL. At this point, the translation is so literal that it’s difficult to follow. 2/5Updating stability: solid. Even though the updates are bad, at least they’re regular. That said, they immediately released 25 chapters into their privilege tier so it could obviously be better. 4/5Story development: mixed. The cases are interesting, but outside of them the story is too bland. Everything goes right for the MC and he’s never challenged or in conflict with anything else. And while it doesn’t particularly bother me, the “China STRONK” nationalism is particularly fierce in this one. 3/5Character design: lackluster. While the criminals are interesting and there’s some gray to the morality, the characters we spend the most time with are bland and uninteresting. The romance is the same: bland. It’s also rushed and the characters involved are too perfect. 2/5World background: uninspired. Normally, I find the nationalism inherent in Chinese novels intriguing, because their take on foreign countries as filtered through the state media and Great Firewall gives a unique perspective on the author’s culture, but here it actually hurts them. The MC transmigrated to a world where nothing is different, except that China is as powerful there as the US is in reality. Other than that, there is no difference from the day-to-day that we already live with so the worldbuilding is something the author just skipped. 2/5Overall: I’m dropping this at chapter 90-something because of the tl quality more than anything else. While the cases are indeed interesting, there’s just not enough there to justify straining to read the terrible translation.

The best way to describe this novel for me would be, a more bloody, gory and dark version of konosuba. The main character reincarnates in the body of the current guild leader of Invictus, a member of the Medusa race, and with some fragmented memories of his new body. And he has only a system ( with no personality or system store with stupid quests, thank God) to inform him of the names of the people around him, and there status and hostility level. And apparently it can analyse and copy the skills and abilities of other people and creatures...? I love the character design of this novel, the characters in this novel feel more 'alive', the enemies aren't evil for the sake of being evil, they each have there own personalities, with there own motivations, ambitions and dreams. There are however some problems, for example, the lack of explanation of how the power system works, how magic works, the difference between the races in this world, etc...Like, it's fine if everything isn't explained to the last detail. But at least having a more detailed explanation about the race of the main character, the Medusa race, and about is strength, like, sometimes he looks super powerful and other times weak, tho he looks more like an assassin for the most part, maybe that's why.One thing in this novel is the, sometimes, excessive pov change, like, you can pass 5 or more chapters following the other characters going throught aventures and life or death battles, finding love, etc... . And you start wondering if the main character started hibernating or something. Don't get me wrong, the pov changes aren't bad and are very good even. It's just they are to God damn long, and when one ends, another starts. And that can be very frustrating, especially when you what to know the background and abilities of the main character. All in all, it's a great story. :-)

Very interesting and addicted novel! Good start and synopsis. The language that the author used is also beautiful and entertaining. I love how the author describes the characters' interactions and thoughts. I am intrigued by the novel's mysterious plot while reading it and can't wait to read more. Definitely, adding it to my collection. Good job, author!

This review is just based on the first 5 chapters I just think the pace of this story is to fast with not enough detail. The reading isn't capturing enough.

I am really loving this story. Rowan is a very relatable character, and i like the unique fantasy world. It feels like the author put a lot of thought into the world building. The banter between the ML and MC is top notch. Author has a talent for dialogue.
