Different eyes, different sights. RI is not for the weak stomach plus Ri is from a villain's POV so it is like that. Plotting for something is ingrained in Gu world. Not only against MC, everybody plots against everybodu. There are no reasonable persons in Gu world because in that world, to reach true heights, you have to have "undesirable" traits. I put on quotes because we should not judge a fantasy world with vastly different values. Maybe Grimdark is not for you, how about you try a western novel called Broken empire trilogy, a real fantasy hard copy novel to see if you like Grimdark. If you still don't like the one I am recommending, Grimdark is not for you. Though I would say Ri is not without flaws. It's good but not without flaws.
