Hold up did he smash that Ma Xarou chick or not? Author doesn't make it clear

The author of this novel kindly stop mentioning the past scenes in details in the present chapter, it tooks half of the present present chapter just a waste. All the chapters were short,  so if you continues to mentioned the past scenes in details in place of the present scene, it only give us half.
