That was surprising. Diplomatic negotiations with dryads were impossible because they were out of it and didn't (and couldn't) follow any societal rules or regulations - that was a regrettable point almost any superior of his had lamented at least a few times any time talks about Urea came up. There being dryads like his master could change the game for the better. Wasn't that a good thing?
