Lifelike wooden puppets made by Granny Lü and placed around An Village at the entrance, exit, beside rice fields, and next to the well. Spirits have possessed these puppets, giving them liveliness and human-like emotions. They can only frighten people and have never taken any lives. One puppet was made to resemble Xu Chun with a beauty mark, round cheeks, and a pink ribbon bow.
