Lu Yun organized a proper wedding night ceremony to make up for their rushed original wedding. It included dragon-and-phoenix wedding candles, lifting the red veil with a ceremonial scale, tying robe hems together, cutting and intertwining locks of hair into a knot of unity placed in a sandalwood box, and drinking ceremonial wine from linked cups.
