A palm-sized device built by Liu Xiyin that can play back captured sounds from the past without needing a record. It has a button on the left to capture and a button on the right to play. Liu Xiyin had to build a primitive engraving needle due to lack of microchip manufacturing facilities. It recorded Song Shiyun and Yan Changyue's forbidden encounter including screams and the sound of falling down stairs.
