Lu Beichen orchestrated the downfall of Wu Chi by gathering evidence of his crimes and anonymously sending it to his wife. Wu Chi's wife confronted him in the hospital, demanding divorce. Lu Beichen planned to also give the evidence to Wu Chi's political rival after the divorce was finalized.
