A guqin piece adapted by Mu Nanyin herself. The first half tells the story of a General who fought bravely and died in a desperate last stand. The latter half describes his return to the capital, betrayal by his closest lover and sovereign, false accusation of treason, and execution of his entire family. The melody moves from lofty and expansive to mournful and heartbreaking, bringing listeners to tears.
