A traditional Chinese medicine technique called Jinzhen Boyi that dates back to the Tang Dynasty. It is mentioned in poems by Liu Yuxi and Bai Juyi, and recorded in medical texts by Sun Simiao, Wang Kentang's Zhengzhi Zhunsheng, Shenshi Yaohan, and Golden Mirror of the Medical Lineage. Only experienced senior physicians could perform it successfully.
