The Yuen Long funeral home director initially claimed that cremation took three days six years ago, giving Chi Ah Min an alibi. However, it was discovered that cremation furnaces had already been expanded by then and ashes could be collected the same day. The director had mistakenly thought the events happened eleven years ago (when furnaces were indeed in short supply) based on overhearing conversation about Ah Min's parents being separated for eleven years.
