A short broken fingernail the color of red bean paste found wedged in the gap of a repainted cabinet door in Professor Gu Huaiyuan's office. DNA testing confirmed it belonged to the victim Lin Weiwei. Traces of skin cells and tissue were found beneath the nail, which matched Gu Huaiyuan's DNA exactly.
