Zou Cuilan is a middle-aged caregiver hired by Mr. Zhu (Zhu Heqing) to look after Yu Huan in the hospital. She is anxious and self-conscious about her low social status, wearing cheap clothes and sneakers, and fears displeasing her wealthy employer. However, she finds Yu Huan to be surprisingly normal and kind, treating her as a straightforward employer-caregiver relationship rather than with disdain. Zou Cuilan takes her job seriously, waking up frequently to check Yu Huan's temperature and assisting with care tasks like applying ice packs. The job is financially important to her, as it pays for her daughter's medical treatment, and she is grateful yet uneasy about the opportunity.
